Drawing and painting wildlife excites me – all creatures big and small. Having been trained in the biological sciences, I enjoy researching the habitat and anatomy of different species, combined with field notes, sketches and photography. Palaeoart enables me to combine my love of geology and biology with art as I recreate prehistoric creatures and lost worlds. I often sketch in pencil first, and illustrate in a range of styles with different media, including watercolour, pastel and ink. Recently, I have experimented with digital media, replacing my pencil for a stylus pen.
